Quite the statement lamp, this large, heavyweight, industrial piece has some history. British-made by Heyes & Co of Wigan, it was designed to be flameproof / explosion-proof, built for use in extreme environments and able to withstand whatever might be thrown at it… quite literally. It dates from the 1950s and comes with rugged good looks. Made in cast aluminium with a large prismatic glass lens, it’s been rewired and tested and now gives a warm, diffused glow. Its scale and distinctive design make it the centre of attention.
