Vintage Danish Bentwood ‘Skyline’ Leather Armchair By Einar Hove for Hove Mobler
A very handsome, vintage Danish ‘Skyline’ bentwood chair. With its cantilevered frame and deep tilt, it’s a really indulgent, comfortable chair but without the usual bulk associated with modern, large lounge chairs. The deep brown leather is soft, supple and in immaculate condition, and you sink back into its arms. Bentwood chairs of this style have a particularly striking, organic, curved form and aren’t ‘heavy-set’. We love the ‘hair-pin’ curve of the arms that characterises these Skyline chairs. Partner with other lounge seating or use as a stand-alone chair in a bedroom or office.

Description
This original piece is ‘sold as seen’. It is in very good – excellent, used condition. The leather upholstery has been cleaned, as has the frame with a natural beeswax polish applied. The original, deep brown leather upholstery is in excellent order on the sectioned, single cushion with plump inners, well buttons secured in place and working zips. There are leather wrinkles and signs of light wear and tear, as you might expect with vintage leather, but this is minimal and barely noticeable. Likewise, the finishing vinyl underneath and the straps are also in excellent order. The cushion fixed to the frame with popper studs at the top back and the seat front. The chair is superbly constructed, solid and sturdy with no wobbles or creaks. There are some very light scuffs and faded patches here and there to the wooden frame, most obviously on the curved arm- ends. There is no maker’s mark on the frame but its distinctive design means we can attribute it with confidence to Einar Hove for Hove Mobler, produced during the 1970s.
