Vintage 1960s Meredew Oak Bedside Cabinet

Dating from the 1960s and made by British maker, Meredew, this neat, little cabinet in light oak is super useful. Designed as a bedside stand, a spot for storing night-time essentials, it features a cupboard, a shelf and is the perfect height for sitting alongside the bed. The wood tone and design is neutral so this will slot in easily with pieces of different colours and styles. We could also see a cabinet like this being put to good use in a bathroom, perhaps next to the bath for lotions, potions and candles. Well-made and reliable.

Description

This original, vintage piece is ‘sold as seen’. It is in good – very good, used condition. We have thoroughly cleaned the cabinet inside and out, and the external top surface has been sanded, oiled and wax-polished as it has sustained some heavy wear to the original finish. A partial restoration of sorts. A natural beeswax polish was applied to the remaining external surfaces. The handle is securely attached and the hinges and door closure are in good working order. The interiors are clean and tidy. There are just very light signs of use – do browse our photos for a good sense of its condition. The Meredew label is inside the door.
