Set of Six Original 1960s Midcentury G Plan Teak Dining Chairs by Leslie Dandy

What a find! A set of six G Plan dining chairs, designed by Leslie Dandy and dating from the 1960s. They’re solid teak, superbly constructed and in absolutely fantastic condition. Their design is tall and elegant, perfect for slow, long dinner parties with friends and family. With high, supportive backs and wide comfortable seats in their original brown velvet, these dining chairs will partner with any dining table, G Plan or otherwise. And it’s unusual to find two carvers in a set. We love the curves and contours of their wide arms.

Description

This original, vintage set of six dining chairs is ‘sold as seen’. Overall, they are in very good, used condition. The solid teak chairs frames have been thoroughly cleaned, checked and polished. They are in very good – excellent order overall. There are very minor, superficial scuffs here and there on the frames, as you might expect with furniture of this age. The original brown velvet upholstery is in good order too. Again, there are the odd light marks but nothing to flag or that causes concern. They have plenty of life left in them as they are, but should you wish to recover them, it’s an easy job for the professional upholsterer or the hobbyist as they are wraparound seats. All six chairs are solid and stable with no areas of concern.  As you can appreciate from our photos, these chairs are superbly crafted. The G Plan label is affixed to the underside of most of the seats.
