Vintage Midcentury Light Oak Vinyl / Display Cabinet
This stylish, midcentury cabinet in light oak is the perfect home for precious vinyl. Slide open the lower glass doors to reveal the sectioned interior, ready for your favourites. The angled top cabinet is perfect for displaying treasures or for stowing your 7 inches. Of course, this neat, display cabinet can be used for books and other storage, if records aren’t your thing. It’s British in origin and really well-made with classic, clean midcentury lines. A handsome, vintage piece with considerable retro charm and lots of use in the modern home.
Description
This is an original, vintage cabinet that is ‘sold as seen’. Overall, it is in very good, used condition. We have thoroughly cleaned the piece and applied a natural beeswax polish but otherwise left the original finish well alone. There are four sliding glass doors – two clear in the top section, and two textured in the bottom. Something too abrasive has been used to clean the glass in the top section at some point (not us!) and as a consequence there are some scratched to the glass. These aren’t particularly noticeable as you will appreciate from our photos but when the light catches the glass in a certain way, you can see them. We’ve tried to show this in a photo but it’s difficult to pick up on camera. All four doors slide with ease on their runners. The interior wood is clean, tidy and in excellent order. The lower cabinet is sectioned for records. There are some very minor scratches and scuffs on the exterior wood but nothing to call out and this is in line with its age and use. It’s a really well-made, practical piece of storage furniture that’s solidly made with no signs of repair. Sadly the maker’s label is no longer affixed, but it’s British-made and in our experience we would date its production to the 1960s. Our photos aim to give an accurate sense of the condition. Note: we’ve added floor protectors to the feet which can just been seen in our photos. These can be easily unstuck.
