Set of Six Danish Midcentury Rosewood Dining Chairs by Vamdrup Stolefabrik

A set of handsome, rosewood dining chairs by renowned Danish manufacturer, Vamdrup Stolefabrik and something of a rare find. They date from the late 1970s / early 1980s and are very elegant with curves and contours softening the chairs’ lines and adding great comfort for the sitter. The set is comprised of four regular chairs and two carvers with arms. The original wool upholstery is a chunky weave of oatmeal and cream, neutral enough to fit easily into any kitchen or dining room. Should you wish to update the fabric at any point, this would be an easy and inexpensive job for an upholsterer. A fine set of midcentury chairs that will add a touch of sophistication to your dinner table.

Description

This set of six original, vintage dining chairs is ‘sold as seen’. They are in good – very good, used condition. They have been cleaned with a natural beeswax polish applied to the wooden frames and the seats have been thoroughly vacuumed. The original factory-finish lacquer has a high gloss finish which has probably preserved the chairs well over the years. However, there is some specific aging to call out that would be difficult to restore / disguise without removing this finish. This wear is primarily on one of the two carver chairs. It’s sunlight faded on its back (it’s clearly been by a window) and consequently is lighter and a rather patchy – we’ve shown this clearly in our photos and this wear is reflected on our price. There are some superficial marks to the finish on the back of one of the regular chairs – again, we’ve shown this in our photos. The wool upholstery is in remarkably good order considering its age and its light colour. There are some faint marks from use here and there, nothing distasteful though, and you could opt have the seats cleaned. The chairs are superbly crafted, solid and stable with no wobbles. Each chair carries the maker’s label underneath. Please refer to our photos for a good sense of their used condition. Any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

We have a weekly collection and onward delivery usually follows 1-5 days later, depending on when they are next in your area.
