Set of Four Vintage Ercol Model 400 Windsor Dining Chairs

A fine quartet of 1960s Ercol Windsor dining chairs in superb original condition – they’ve been cared for. Their design is smaller and less fussy than the later 400 Windsor models. With just four back spindles and a more compact seat width, their proportions are neat so ideal for a smaller dining table. Ercol built furniture to last and the fact these chairs are 50+ years old and still solid and stable proves that. They have much to offer and would be as at home in a midcentury inspired interior as they would around a homely country cottage kitchen table.

Description

This set of four original, vintage dining chairs is ‘sold as seen’. They are in good – very good, used condition. They have been checked, cleaned and wax polished to nourish the wood and restore the shine but otherwise the finish is all original. There are light knocks, blemishes and scuffs here and there which can be seen across our photos but overall the wear and tear is minimal – these chairs are in remarkably good order. They are very well-made as you would expect from Ercol, solid and stable with no wobbles or areas of concern. Sadly the blue Ercol labels are no longer in place on the back of each chair but they bear the Ercol stamp underneath, as shown – they are unequivocally Ercol.
