This pair of original, vintage chairs is ‘sold as seen’. They are both in good, used condition. We have checked and cleaned the chairs, applying a natural beeswax to nourish the wood and restore some low sheen shine but otherwise their finish is original. The chairs do have signs of wear and tear. This is mainly concentrated on the arms, as you would expect, where the finish has worn and faded somewhat with use. We’ve shown this in our photos. The aging and wear is superficial – blemishes, faded patches, light surface marks here and there. Do browse our numerous photos for an accurate sense of its order. The chairs were intended to have a thick, custom-fit seat cushion about 3-4 inches tall. These are frequently discarded for a more contemporary look but as a consequence the seat height is low without a cushion of some sort. The poppers are still in place at the back and underneath on both chairs if you wanted to add official Ercol cushions. As you would expect from Ercol they are superbly constructed in solid wood. There are no wobbles or joint concerns. The gold Ercol sticker is in place on one chair but not the other and they date from 1980s.
