Original Vintage G Plan ‘Fresco’ Teak Round Extending Dining Table

G Plan made hard-wearing, handsome every-day furniture for the busy, modern home and the fact its pieces are still so highly regarded and going strong through generations is a testament to their quality. From its Fresco range, designed by VB Wilkins, this round dining table in teak is in super, original condition and would be a perfect family dining table, comfortably seating four as a round. It extends with a hidden, fold-out central panel for when there are six guests for dinner. Thoughtfully designed with long, tapered legs, it’s a classic midcentury acquisition.

Description

This is an original, vintage piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in overall good – very good, used condition. The table has been cleaned and a natural beeswax polish applied, but otherwise the original finish has been left alone as it’s in such great order. To extend the table to full capacity for six diners the two halves are pulled apart to reveal the folded extension underneath. This then fans out flat and the two sides are pushed back together for a seamless table top. All mechanisms, runners and hinges are in very good, working order. There are some minor marks here and there primarily on the table’s top surface including a slightly darker patch – please refer to our photos. The extending section is a touch darker, commonly seen on this type of table and this is simply because it’s not been exposed to sunlight as the rest of the table has. It’s a very well-made table that’s solid and sturdy. Part of the G Plan label is still in place on the extension. Do browse our photos for a good sense of its condition.
