Original Danish Mogens Hansen Black Leather Two Seater Sofa
A fine example of classic Danish design that combines sharp, good looks with maximum comfort. This super stylish, Mogens Hansen black leather is in superb shape and ready for a new home and the next 20 years of use. Low and lean, this sofa has a fantastic silhouette from all sides but it doesn’t compromise on comfort. Its clean-cut style means it will mix and match with other seating from different periods too. Sitting on four solid wooden legs, it’s an understated piece that won’t intrude – it’ll fit right into modern family life with leather offering a practical upholstery choice as its tough and easy to keep clean.
Description
This original piece is ‘sold as seen’. It is in very good, used condition. The leather has been given a thorough clean and a nourishing leather balm applied. The original black leather upholstery is in excellent order on the cushions. There are six cushions in total with working zips and plump cushion inners. The side, upright cushion on the right hand side has a slightly darker patch that’s faintly visible – please see our photo. The fixed leather upholstery is in very good order. There are wrinkles and a little fading here and there on both the cushions and the fixed leather upholstery but this is entirely as you would expect with vintage leather and is part of its character. The wooden, solid oak legs have been cleaned and a wax polish applied. The back right leg has sustained some light damage at some point with a small chunk removed. This isn’t noticeable nor does it affect the leg or stability of the piece – please see our photo. The sofa is well made, solid and sturdy with no wobbles or creaks. Sadly there s no maker’s mark left on the piece but it’s been imported directly from Denmark and attributed to Mogens Hansen. It’s high quality from the thick, top-grade leather to the superior construction leads us to believe this is the case. It’s a fine quality Danish leather sofa from a very reputable brand.
