Large Vintage 1960s British-made Solid Teak Coffee Table

This is a cracking midcentury piece and a lounge staple – the coffee table. It dates from the 1960s and although British, the design is clearly influenced by Scandinavian contemporaries. Wide but not too deep, there is a subtlest of curves on the long sides of the table top. Underneath is a magazine rack for stowing papers, books and magazines, or for the cat to lie on. Very nicely made in solid teak and a classic design.

Description

This is an original, vintage piece that is ‘sold as seen’. Overall, it is in good – very good, used condition. We have cleaned the table, applying a natural beeswax polish. As you can see from our photos, there is a little patchiness on the table top where it has taken the brunt of wear and tear as well as sunlight fading. This has actually resulted in a golden, aged look which we love but you could opt to strip and restore the top if you wanted a more uniform finish. There are minor scuffs and marks here and there but nothing to call out. It’s a very nicely made piece, solid and stable with no repairs. There is no maker’s mark but we believe it to be British in origin and it dates from the 1960s. A fine quality, midcentury table. Please browse our photos for a good sense of the piece but should you have question or wish to view, just get in touch.
