Description
This vintage, used piece is ‘sold as seen’. It is in fair, preloved condition. It has been cleaned inside and out, and a natural beeswax polish applied to the external wood but otherwise the original finish has been left alone. As you can see from our photos, the satinwood is lightly marked and knocked here and there across all its surfaces. We don’t feel this wear detracts from its appeal and rather adds to its vintage character but we know this isn’t for everyone – please do browse our pictures. The four graduated drawers have securely attached, original brass plate handles. They are well-made in solid wood with dovetail joints and they all have clean-tidy interiors with just light signs of use. It should be noted that the third drawer down has warped which means it’s slightly misaligned when pushed in and pulled out (this can be seen in our photos too). This isn’t due to a repair or a deteriorating problem, it’s down to age, use and the movement of the wood. Sadly warped wood of this nature is impossible to remedy – it is what it is and this is reflected on our price. Outside of this issue specific to the one drawer, it’s well made, solid and stable with much still to offer. There is no maker’s mark but its origins are British. Sadly, we do not have a key for the brass locks. If you have any queries or would like to view this piece, just get in touch. We’d be happy to chat.
