Description
This is an original, vintage piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in good – very good, used condition. We have checked, cleaned and polished this piece, applying a natural beeswax polish to the exterior wood surfaces but otherwise the finish is original and as such it does comes with signs of wear and ageing, as shown in our photos and described. There are two drawers which slide with ease, are expertly made with dovetail joints and have clean interiors with light signs of use, as shown. The wooden handles are original and are securely attached. The right handle is slightly wonky but this is how it was originally screwed into place! We like this little detail but you could adjust the screw and hole to centre it if it bothered you. The exterior surfaces do carry knocks, marks and scuffs as you would expect with a piece of this significant age and this is primarily on the table top where there are some blemishes as shown. Do refer to our photos for a accurate sense of its order. Overall, we feel the wear is part of its unique character and history. It’s very well-crafted, solid and stable.
