- It’s not often we acquire wardrobes (mainly because of their weight!) but this one was too good to miss. Designed by power duo, John and Sylvia Reid for Stag in the 1950s, it’s from their highly regarded C range but in Australian walnut rather than the more commonly seen light oak. The rich, dark grain is so striking across its large expansive exterior surfaces. The grain is sublime. The overall design is refined, clean-lined and minimalist, looking both vintage and contemporary at the same time. We love the black border framing the front, a subtle accent of distinction and there’s plentiful storage inside with a rail and fixed shelves / cubby holes to the left. This is a super piece of timeless, midcentury design with great provenance that will mix and match with other furniture. We have an accompanying chest of drawers.
