Description
This is an original, vintage tallboy that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in good – very good, used condition. We have cleaned the piece inside and out, and used a natural beeswax polish on the external surfaces to restore some shine but otherwise the finish is all original, and it’s in cracking condition throughout with just light, superficial scuffs and marks from use. The six graduated drawers slide with ease, are beautifully made with dovetail joints and have mostly clean, tidy interiors. There are some ink stains as shown but nothing unsavoury. We have replaced the old brass, filigree handles which were bent and in poor order with new brass ones, a nod to the originals. The exterior wood carries some blemishes and knocks here and there including ink spot on the top, as shown, but this wear is very much in line with its history and function. It’s a very well-made piece that’s sturdy and solid with no areas of concern or repairs. We do not have keys for the locks. Sadly there isn’t a maker’s mark but it’s British in origin. Alternatively, we can arrange fast, UK mainland delivery with trusted delivery partners who cover most of the country (enquire for Scotland or remote addresses) and are reliable and insured. We have a weekly collection and onward delivery usually follows 1-5 days later. The delivery service we can offer does require a little flexibility as the drivers work to predetermined routes with other delivery obligations, but you would be kept updated.
