Antique Victorian Mahogany Small Chest of Four Drawers
This neat Victorian chest of drawers is a beauty. Combining elegant, thoughtful design with tidy proportions and much storage, it’s a catch. Expertly crafted in mahogany, making it a heavy, solid piece that will withstand a lot of use, its height makes it perfect for a mirror on top to use as an informal dressing table perhaps. It would also work well in a traditional, country bathroom with lots of space for toiletries. The hanging ring handles and brass escutcheons add a fancy, feminine flourish that we love. A charming piece with much old-fashioned charm, these dark wood pieces looks great partnered with bright colours and bold patterns.
Description
This original, vintage piece is ‘sold as seen’. Overall, it is in very good, used condition. All four drawers slide with ease and the interior wood is in good, clean order . The drawers are well-made with dovetail joints and the handles are in excellent order, securely in place. Sadly we do not have the key to lock the drawers. The external wood is in good order with minor scuffs and knocks, in line with its age. There looks to be a small repair to the front left leg, but it’s expertly well done and is barely noticeable. It’s very well-constructed, solid mahogany chest of drawers. Please browse our photos to get a good sense of its condition.
