Vintage Ercol Model 428 Quaker Rocking Chair

This charming, ‘Quaker’ solid beech and elm rocking chair, designed by Lucian Ercolani and made in the Ercol factory during the 1960s is as practical as it is pretty. Although its proportions are compact and it’s dainty to look at, it’s a sturdy, comfortable chair that looks just perfect next to the fireplace or for when you can grab a moment with a good book. A design classic that never goes out of style, this particular model went out of production in 1986 so is becoming increasingly sought after. As you can see this is the darker finish but it’s no less desirable and handsome in our view.

Description

This is an original, vintage chair that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in good – very good, used condition. We have thoroughly cleaned the chair and applied natural beeswax polish to restore the shine. It retains its original Ercol factory finish. There are some minor signs of wear and tear to the finish that you might expect with a second-hand chair, but nothing that would significantly detract from the charm of this rocking chair. Please browse our photos for a good sense of its condition. The original blue Ercol sticker is still affixed to the rear of the seat.
