Handsome Vintage Danish Rosewood Sideboard
Combining sharp, classically Scandinavian good looks with home needs, this slimline Danish sideboard / dresser delivers handsome, practical storage. Its depth at just 38cm means it doesn’t intrude into the room but sits discreetly against the wall. With four drawers and lockable double cupboards, there’s a mass of storage space inside. Clean-lined and simple, it’s designed to let the rosewood take the limelight. The rich, darkly toned patina of the wood across its front is stunning.
Description
This original, vintage sideboard is ‘sold as seen’. It is in good – very good, used condition. We have cleaned the piece inside and out, and applied a natural beeswax polish to the external surfaces to restore its shine. All four drawers slide with ease and have clean, tidy interiors. The drawers are very well made with dovetail joints. Both cupboard doors have locks and a single key which keeps them securely closed. The cupboard interiors are also clean and both feature a single, adjustable shelf. The sideboard front is in very good order with beautifully defined rosewood grain running across the drawers and sideboard doors. There is some sunlight fading on the top surface. In a former life, this mostly likely formed part of a tall highboard and it looks at if another unit has rested on top. Please refer to our photos. It’s not very noticeable in the overall context of the piece. Otherwise, there are light signs of use here and there, just minor scuffs, small dents and superficial marks as you would expect with buying a vintage piece but nothing to call out. The solid wood legs have been added at a later date. Please browse our photos for a good sense of its super overall condition. It’s well made, solid and stable, Danish in origin and imported directly, although sadly we do not have a maker’s name.
