Vintage Danish Rosewood Omann Jun Two Door Cabinet Model #4
A stunning, Danish midcentury two door cabinet / sideboard, attributed to Omann Jun. Designed by Gunni Omann for Omann Jun, this style is model no.4 and it’s a solid rosewood, rosewood veneer and mahogany construction. Clean-lined and made with exquisite attention to detail, it was designed to let the wood take centre-stage. The rich, darkly toned patina of the wood is beautiful from all sides. The proportions of this cabinet make it a really versatile piece of furniture. Not as large as a sideboard but bigger than a standard cabinet, this could be used for a multitude of storage options in a home from kitchen and family room to home office and lounge. Also on the top you will notice the subtle divide between the solid rosewood and mahogany. This isn’t a repair but part of how the piece was made. Often another layer was added on top of this base, hence the rosewood being used as the front only as the back would’ve been hidden.
This is an original, vintage piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in excellent condition. We have thoroughly cleaned and polished it. This cabinet has no flaws to flag other than light signs of use as you would expect with an original pieces of this age. These are primarily on the top. The doors open with ease and the closures work on both sides as they should. The external woodwork is in excellent condition with very few scuffs or marks. There are two height adjustable shelves in the left hand side and one in the right. Sadly the Omann Jun sticker is no longer affixed inside the door but this is a well documented piece and we have sold the same model previously. Please refer to our photos to see the overall condition of this piece.
