Elegant Vintage 1960s Sideboard with Drawers
With a stately design that’s neither too traditional nor too mid century, this is a versatile vintage piece that can serve downstairs as a sideboard or console table, or upstairs as a drawer chest or dressing table. Thoughtfully designed with elegant details like the round, lower handles and the contoured trim at the back, and beautifully made with fine wood (the tone and grain is superb) and expert construction, it’s British and dates from the early 1960s. We love furniture that straddles generations and styles, a sign of classic, timeless design, and this will happily mix with modern pieces, midcentury design, antiques of different wood types or more traditional home styling.

Description
This original, vintage piece is ‘sold as seen’. It is in very good, used condition. We have cleaned the piece inside and out, and applied a natural beeswax polish to the external surfaces. All six drawers slide with ease and are clean and tidy inside. They are very well constructed with dovetail joints, integrated pulls on the upper drawers and round inset, solid teak handles on the lower ones with a brass bar feature. There are just light scuffs and signs of use on the exterior wood, nothing to flag and very much in line with its age. The trim at the back could be unscrewed if desired to give a more streamlined look. Sadly the maker’s label is no longer in place but we believe it to be British made and date from the early 1960s.
