Original Vintage Danish Black Leather ‘Ladies’ Armchair
A handsome, original Danish black leather armchair in fantastic shape and looking good from all sides. Dating from the seventies, it’s a classic Scandinavian design with sweeping arms and generous proportions for ultimate comfort and loungability. These pieces can be a statement seat on their own or they mix well with other styles from different periods. And as we always say, vintage leather is a practical cover choice for a seat that’s destined to be used a lot in the modern home.
This original, vintage chair is ‘sold as seen’. It’s in very good, used condition. We have washed the leather upholstery and applied a natural wax polish to the solid oak legs. The two cushions are in excellent order with working zips, plump inners and very few signs of use. The fixed upholstery is in very good order, hugging the contours of the frame tightly and with no areas of concern. There are some wrinkles and very light areas of fading from use but this is in line with what we would expect with used, vintage leather and very much why it appeals. We noticed a small blemish on the arm end when photographing. It looks as if a mark has been touched up to disguise it. Overall it’s not particularly noticeable. The finishing cloth underneath the cushions is in fantastic order. The frame itself is solid and stable with no wobbles or joint concerns. It’s a very well-made piece. Sadly there is no maker’s mark but we’ve imported this chair directly from Denmark and it dates from the 1970s. Please our photos for an accurate picture of the super condition of this fine chair.
