Description
This is an original, vintage piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in overall good – very good, used condition. We have checked and cleaned the piece inside, and the exterior surfaces have been fully restored, a process that involved chemically stripping away the original finish (gentler than sanding ensuring the vintage character of the piece isn’t removed entirely), followed by layers of oil and then wax polish for a durable, consistent finish. The lower cupboard doors align, the original handles are securely attached and the closures in good, working order. The interior is clean and tidy with just light signs of use and there is a fixed recessed shelf. The two upper drawers have dovetail joints on their corners and clean, today interiors. The right hand drawer is baize-lined and sectioned for cutlery. There are some very minor knocks, marks and dents here and there which can be seen across our numerous photos, just light wear and tear in line with its considerable age and background. The maker and military stamp are on the back, along with the date ‘1960’. This is a very well made, midcentury piece. Please browse our photos for an accurate sense of the overall fantastic order.
