Vintage 1960s Ercol 412 Chest of Drawers
More classic, vintage Ercol design, this time in the form of a handsome, low chest of drawers. Featuring three generous drawers, this is made in solid British elm and sit on its original castors for ease of movement. Its size is neat so a versatile piece for the bedroom or a family space. You can see all Ercol’s signature features here from exceptional dovetail joints to the oval inset handles to the superior construction to the beautiful, honey-toned finish on the wood. Made in the 1960s / 1970s, it comes in its original finish as it’s in such good order. Do browse our photos – the grain’s glorious.
This is an original, used drawer chest that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in very good, vintage condition. The piece has been cleaned inside and out and a natural beeswax polish applied to the exterior wood surfaces. Otherwise though, the original finish has been left well alone as it’s in such good order. All three drawers slide with ease, feature Ercol’s dovetail joints, their signature recessed oval handles, and have clean, tidy interiors. There are light, age-related marks and superficial scuffs to the exterior wood, primarily on the top surface. These are only noticeable when the light hits them so discreet. Overall, the piece is solid and sturdy and very well made as you would expect from Ercol. The castors roll with ease and the formerly blue Ercol sticker, albeit faded, is just about still affixed to the back. Please browse our pictures to get a good sense of condition and colour.
