Stylish Norwegian 1970s Folding ‘Uno’ Green Leather Chair by Ekornes

A super stylish vintage armchair with an unusual feature – it folds! It’s ‘Uno’ folding chair by renowned Norwegian maker, Ekornes, more latterly famed for their recliners… they know a thing or two about comfort! This chair dates from the 1970s and it’s the combination of the forest green, buttoned leather against the dark, flowing lines of the wooden frame that makes a dramatic impact. It’s a chair that looks magnificent from all sides and it’s in excellent condition. It’s superbly and thoughtfully crafted as you would expect from a Scandinavian midcentury.

Description

This is an original, vintage chair that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in overall very good – excellent, used condition. The leather has been cleaned and nourished with a natural leather balm. The leather upholstery on the single sectioned cushion is in very good order. Although wrinkled and with some minor surface scuffs, as is the nature of vintage leather, it’s thick, soft and supple with secure buttons, working zips and plump inners. The cushion is held in place on the chair frame with a cord that discreetly ties through rings on the cushion’s fold and loops on the frame. The chair’s canvas and cords are in very good order with only light signs of wear, and the same can be said for the wooden frame too – only light signs of use. The chair is well made, solid and sturdy with the folding action working smoothly. Sadly the maker’s label is no longer affixed but this is a well-known, documented design that we attribute with confidence. Please refer to our photos to get a good sense of colour and condition.
