Set of Four of Ercol Model 365 ‘Quaker’ Dining Chairs
These tall, arched ‘Quaker’ chairs are amongst the most elegant of Ercol’s extensive dining chair range and are some of their most popular in our experience – they are always snapped up! They were originally produced from the late 1950s through to the mid 1980s. Made from solid British elm and beech ‘blond’ woods with five-spindled backs and a generous seat height, these wider seat models offer much comfort and support. This set is comprised of four regular dining chairs.
These are original, vintage chairs that are ‘sold as seen’. They are in very good, used condition. They have been cleaned and a neutral, natural wax polish applied but otherwise their original finish has been left alone as it’s in such good order. They carry some light scuffs and marks as you would expect with vintage dining chairs, primarily on the top of the curved backs – please refer to our photos. Because of the extreme bend, these tall windsors often shows signs of aging at this point but it should be noted that there is no movement here or cause for concern in our experienced view. Otherwise, the chairs are in fantastic order. They are solid and sturdy with no wobbles or signs of repair. The original dark blue Ercol stickers are affixed to the back of all four seats and the original Ercol stamp can be seen on the underside of all of them, along with poppers, there to secure cushion pads in place. These chairs date from the 1970s.
