Full Condition Report
This vintage table set is ‘sold as seen’. The tables have been thoroughly serviced and cleaned, and both have had their table tops restored. This process involved initially chemically stripping back the original marked and stained surface (gentler than going straight in with sanding, ensuring the vintage character of the piece isn’t removed entirely and the veneer is well preserved), followed by layers of matt varnish for a durable, consistent finish, so a partial restoration. All other surfaces have been revived with a natural beeswax polish to nourish and restore shine but otherwise the finish there is original. There are minor knocks and marks here and there but these are minimal and what we might expect with a piece of this nature and considerable. Please do look through our photos. The extension / tea table slots below the main table and is pulled out at one end. The two halves of the table unclip and pull apart and the extension fits into the middle. The sides are then closed for a seamless table top. All mechanisms and hinges are in very good working order. To use the extension as a tea table, the legs are put up and down by a clever spring mechanism. There are recessed handles at either end to help with carrying the table. The Beautilit-tea Table maker’s plate can in place on the bottom. Both tables are extremely well-made with no repairs or areas of concern.
