Pair of Vintage Ercol Model 365 ‘Quaker’ Kitchen Dining Chairs

These tall, arched ‘Quaker’ chairs, the model 365 design, are among the most sought-after Ercol dining chair designs. They were originally produced from the late 1950s through to the mid 1980s. Made from solid British elm and beech ‘blond’ woods with five-spindled backs and a generous seat height, these wider seat models offer much comfort and support round the table. This pair date from the 1970s and are in sound, original condition. There are scuffs and knocks in line with their age – there is the option to restore them yourself.

Description

These are original, vintage chairs that are ‘sold as seen’. They are in good, used condition. They have been checked, cleaned and a neutral, natural wax polish applied but otherwise their original finish has been left alone. Please browse through our photos – you will see that there are superficial scuffs, scratches and marks to the finish, primarily on the seats, and this wear is reflected in our price. You could opt to full restore these chairs – the beauty of Ercol is that it’s solid elm and beech so can take stripping and refinishing.  The chairs are solid and sturdy with no wobbles or areas of concern.  The Ercol sticker is in place on one of the chairs. These chairs date from the 1970s.
