Original Vintage Ercol Goldsmith Rocking Chair
Vintage Ercol that doesn’t require full restoration is hard to come by these days – kept within families for generations, it’s usually well-loved but well used. This handsome Goldsmith rocking chair, however, is in great order. It comes with some knocks and marks here and there but this is in line with what you would expect of a chair of this age. Ercol made expertly crafted, every-day home furniture, designed to be beautiful to look at and practical to use in the modern home. This piece is made in solid British elm and beech, Ercol’s light woods of choice. A rocking chair is the perfect signature piece to create a quiet reading haven or an cosy oasis of warmth next to a fire. And this full-size Goldsmith chair from Ercol is one of the harder ones to acquire nowadays.

Description
This original vintage piece is ‘sold as seen’. It’s in good, used condition. We have thoroughly cleaned the chair and polished it with a natural beeswax but otherwise it primarily retains its original Ercol finish. The chair arms have been lightly restored to remove marks and an irregular finish – please refer to our photos. We have also strengthened an arm joint to ensure its solid and stable for many years to come – we have shown this in our photos too. Overall, there are some knocks and scuffs here and there but we would describe this as light and in line with the considerable age of the chair. There are no wobbles or joint concerns. The original ‘Made in England’ blue Ercol sticker is affixed to the back of the chair, dating it to the 1960s. Alternatively, we can arrange fast, UK mainland delivery with specialist drivers who cover most of the country (please enquire for Scotland or remote addresses). Our delivery partners are reliable and insured, and we have worked with them for a number of years. We have a weekly collection and onward delivery usually follows 1-3 days later.
