Original Vintage 1960s Belling Apollo Double Light Floor Lamp – Repurposed & Restored

Formerly an old-fashioned, convection electric heater and light, this 1960s Belling ‘Apollo’ has been repurposed into a statement, double light floor lamp. Tall, rather industrial and sculptural, it looks both of its time and contemporary. The cylindrical spun fibreglass shade at the top gives a warm, golden glow. The lower lamp gives a brighter, white light that radiates out through the perforations at the base. A clever repurpose and restoration turning a blast from the past into a functional, handsome design piece for today’s homes.

Description

This original, vintage lamp is ‘sold as seen’. It is in good – very good, used condition and has been fully restored with care and expertise. The old, electric heater has been removed and replaced with a second internal light so there are two bulbs within this floor lamp. Both lamps have separate, integrated switches so you can have both on or have them on independently. All light fittings and wiring has been PAT tested for compliance to modern regulations and it comes supplied with energy efficient bulbs and a plug. The fibreglass upper shade has some minor faded areas but as you will see from our photos this is minor and doesn’t detract from the lamp’s function or appeal. The lower white enamelled, metal section has a few very minor scuffs to the finish but these are barely noticeable.
