Original Midcentury Posable Floor Lamp by Busquet for Hala Zeist – Fully Restored

Designed by H Busquet for highly regarded Netherland’s lighting manufacturer, Hala Zeist, this lamp has quite the heritage. The design dates from the mid 1950s, just prior to Busquet retiring, and its unique selling point is that the stem can be rotated a full 360 degrees. Called the ‘ball in socket’ light, there is a ball joint in the heavily weighted base to stop the lamp toppling over when angled. There’s a further ball joint at the spotlight to get precision illumination, right where it’s needed. This extraordinary feature makes this a particularly striking and sculptural light. The dark chocolate brown spotlight has an integral switch at the back and overall, it’s in superb vintage condition, quite remarkable give its age and history.
