Original Handmade Frank Meisler Articulated Hippo Sculpture with Gold & Silver Plated Details

We challenge anyone to not fall in love with this adorable object d’art. An authentic Frank Meisler sculpture of a hippo with a pelican on his back and a fish in his mouth! Handmade in a limited edition run, it’s beautifully rendered in metal alloys with gold and silver plated detailing to accentuate its fine features. We love the wrinkles and folds of skin and the whisker holes on his snout. This is a tactile piece, inviting engagement and interaction with an articulated head that moves side to side and and a large mouth that opens. Frank Meisler was a renowned Israeli sculptor, 1929 – 2018, who created kinetic works with movement, designed to delight and surprise. Now under the leadership of his daughter, Frank Meisler handmade works are still produced today. In fact the current version of this very hippo can be purchased new for $2800!
