Danish 1970s Stouby Black Leather Three Seat Sofa
Made by renowned Danish furniture brand, Stouby, this vintage couch’s clean-cut design is matched with superb comfort. It’s a wonderfully lazy sofa with plump cushions, perfect for stretching out on. It’s in great condition with only minor signs of aging. Low and lean, this sofa has a fantastic profile with those upright sides and it has much to offer the family home – leather is a hard-wearing, robust choice for busy, high-traffic households. Description
This original, vintage sofa is ‘sold as seen’. It is in good – very good used condition. The leather upholstery has been given a good surface clean. The original black leather upholstery is in excellent order on the cushions. There are eight cushions in total with working zips and plump cushion inners, all in good order. There are minor signs of wear and tear, and some small scuffs and wrinkling, primarily on the seat cushions and edges as they bear the brunt of use, but this is entirely as you would expect with used leather and is part of its nature. The Stouby branded finishing cloth on the reverse of some of the cushions is a little worn and frayed in places (please see our photos) but this isn’t on show nor is it likely to deteriorate greatly in our view. The fixed leather on the sofa frame is in very good order. Again, the fixed finishing fabric underneath the cushions shows signs of aging and wear here and there – we’ve shown this in our photos. The sofa is superbly constructed, solid and sturdy with no wobbles or creaks. There are some minor scuffs on the four wooden legs. It dates from the 1970s and is branded.
