Original 1970s Danish Tan Brown Leather Armchair with Beech Cantilever Frame

A smart, Scandinavian, vintage armchair in classic 1970’s tan leather. It hails from Denmark and is in very good order with just light leather aging across the cushions and armrests. We love the colour of the leather with the blond wood of the beech frame, a perfect pairing. A fantastic mix and match chair, that will sit happily alongside other midcentury seats and sofas; or a super occasional chair in any room in the house. It would be just as at home in a conservatory as it would fireside.

Description

This original piece is ‘sold as seen’. It is in good – very good, used condition. The leather upholstery – a two cushions and two fixed arm rests  – has been checked and cleaned with a nourishing leather cleaner. The buttons are secure, the inners are plump and the zips working. There are wrinkles and some areas of surface cracking, particularly on the arm rest – please refer to our photos. This is very part of aged leather’s character in our view. The two cushions simply rest in position. The finishing canvas underneath is in very good order too, just a few faint marks here and there. The beech wooden frame has been cleaned and a natural beeswax polish applied. The frame is in very good order. It’s superbly constructed, solid and sturdy with no wobbles or creaks. There are some very light scuffs here and there but nothing to call out. There is no maker’s mark on the frame sadly but it’s an import directly from Denmark and dates from the 1970s.
