Original 1960s Midcentury Large Ercol Windsor Model 382 Plank Dining Table
Ercol furniture is synonymous with good design, quality materials and craftsmanship, and is built for longevity. They are timeless classics. This handsome, vintage Ercol plank table from the iconic Windsor range has stood the test of time and is perhaps the most sought-after of all their dining tables, especially this one which is the larger version at over 1.5m in length. It’s characterised by its softly tapered, solid elm wood table top that gently slopes off at the edges. And the patina and grain on this table top is particularly rich and beautiful. The long, splayed legs are beech. The proportions of this particular model of plank table mean it’s useful in lots of different spaces, for lots of different uses. And this design is becoming harder and harder to find.
This is an original piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in overall excellent, used condition. This table is the largest version of the single-piece, table-top ‘plank’ range and it will comfortably sit six people when given space. We have cleaned the table and applied a natural beeswax polish but have otherwise left the original finish well alone as it’s in such great order. There are very minor, superficial surface marks and scuffs to the top surface and legs but nothing specific to call out and these are as you would expect with a piece of this age. The table is sturdy and solid with no signs of repair. Sadly the maker’s sticker is no longer affixed but this is a well-documented design with provenance that’s easily attributed to Ercol.
