Midcentury 1960s Tallboy Chest of Drawers by Limelight

Our first piece by British maker, Limelight, here’s a smart, light oak tallboy chest of drawers, giving you lots of practical storage across six generous drawers. So obviously midcentury, it dates from the mid 1960s. We love the thoughtful design details – the two distinct sections delineated by the recessed top two drawers, the different brass handles and the direction of the wood grain. It comes checked, cleaned and in reliable, well-made original condition.

Description

This is an original, vintage chest of drawers that is ‘sold as seen’. Overall, it is in good, used condition. We have checked and cleaned it inside and out, and applied a natural beeswax polish to the exterior wood but otherwise the finish is original. All six drawers are well made with dovetail joints, have clean, tidy interiors with just light signs of use and slide with ease. All metal handles are original and securely fixed in place. There are some minor scratches, blemishes and scuffs to the exterior wood as you would expect with a vintage piece of this age. This is primarily on the top surface and we have shown this in our photos. It’s not hugely noticeable especially so if you plan to use the top for display. The feet were originally brass capped but the caps have been removed leaving lighter bands on the legs, as shown. It’s a really well-made, practical piece of storage furniture that’s solidly constructed with no signs of repair. The maker’s label is on the back of the piece.
