Midcentury 1960s Sureline Revolving Drinks Cabinet / Bar
The urge to keep this handsome, retro bar is strong – it’s just wonderful! By day, an unassuming, vintage, teak cabinet for display and storage; by night, a versatile cocktail bar, storing your favourite tipples and special glasses. Revolve the swinging, central unit to have your preferred side on show. It comes with lots of original features from the mirrored back and bottle holes to the complete set of 12 cocktail sticks in their holders in the side cupboards. This is a well-made, good-looking cabinet set on long legs and with a contoured top and rounded corners that soften this substantial piece. Wherever it goes it will bring the party, a vintage statement piece that’s a lot of fun but practical too.
Description
This is an original, vintage piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in good – very good, used condition. We have checked and cleaned the cabinet, applying a natural beeswax polish to the wood but otherwise the finish is original. It features a double-sided, central unit that revolves fully simply by pushing round. The front features a bookcase with an adjustable shelf and glass doors which slide with ease on their runners. The interior is in very good order. The bar featured a mirrored back, a glass shelf and five bottle holes. This section is also in very good order. There are minor scuffs to the bottom of cabinet interior where the bar revolves. We have shown this is our photos. There is no friction here or cause for concern, we think it’s simply where bottles have been weighed on one side. The two side cabinets both feature recessed shelves so further bottles could be stored at the front. The original red top cocktail sticks are present in each side in their holders, 12 in total. The cupboard interiors are likely marked with use and in clean, tidy order. The outer cabinet is in very good condition and sits on four, long, tapered legs. There are minor, superficial marks to the exterior wood in line with its age and use. It’s well made, solid and stable. The Sureline maker’s label can be found on the back.
