Description
This original, vintage piece is ‘sold as seen’. It is in very good, used condition. We have checked and cleaned the piece inside and out. The exterior surfaces – the top, sides and drawer fronts – have been restored. This involved careful removal of the old finish, oil and then a wax polish. As part of this restoration three small holes were filled and disguised on the left hand side panel – please refer to our photo. The three drawers are well-made, slide easily on their runners, have securely attached original, brass pull handles and have clean, tidy interiors. The handles are a little tarnished with age but this minimal. There are very light scuffs and knocks on the external wood, but following restoration these are minimal. The mirror can be angled back and forth by pulling gently at the bottom. All hinges and fittings are in good, working order. If you wished to remove the mirror and use as a chest of drawers, the upright brackets can be easily unscrewed. Sadly no Meredew label but this is an easily verified and attributed design of theirs. It’s stable and solid, well-made and with no signs of repair, and dates from the 1960s. Please do browse through our numerous photos for a good sense of its great condition.
