Classic Vintage Danish Stouby Black Leather Three Seater Sofa

Made by renowned Danish furniture brand, Stouby, this is a classic Scandinavian leather three seat sofa, with a handsome, clean-cut design matched with superb comfort. It’s a wonderfully lazy couch with generous proportions, perfect for stretching out on and it’s in outstanding condition with only very light signs of wear and tear. It most likely dates from the 1980s, possibly last 1970s, but the design is very much midcentury-inspired, undoubtedly influenced by Borge Mogensen. It has a fantastic silhouette from all sides and has much to offer the busy, family home for the next 20 years or more – leather is particularly hard-wearing and easy to keep clean.  It will mix and match with furniture from different periods too so a great choice for a mixed, modern interior. A  very fine sofa with a fantastic pedigree.

This original piece is ‘sold as seen’. It is in very good – excellent, used condition. The leather upholstery has been given a good surface clean. The original black leather upholstery is in very good order overall. There are eight cushions in total with working zips and plump cushion inners, all in very good order. There are very minor signs of wear to the cushions, a little wrinkling, but this is a feature of used leather and very much part of its character and appeal.  The fixed leather on the sofa frame is also in fantastic order with just minor surface marks here and there but nothing to call out. The branded finishing fabric underneath the cushions has a faint water mark that’s barely noticeable and of course is covered by a seat cushion anyway, but otherwise is in super condition. There are some minor surface scuffs and fading to the light beech legs. The sofa is superbly constructed, with no wobbles, creaks or signs of repair.
