Antique Edwardian Oak Dresser Vanity Table

Grand but never ostentatious, this antique, early 20th century dresser is a golden beauty. It’s Edwardian, British in origin and finely crafted in solid oak. Serving as a dresser with a two-over-two drawer configuration, it’s also a vanity stand with a large oval mirror mounted at the top. It sits on longer legs with castor feet and there are some super traditional details like the carved relief at the back, the original brass handles and the decorative finials on the mirror uprights. It will add significant storage to a bedroom / dressing room, along with a dedicated spot to preen and pamper.

Description

This is an original, vintage piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in good, used condition. We have checked and cleaned the piece inside and out, applying a natural wax polish to its exterior surfaces but otherwise the finish is all original. It features a large, oval vanity mirror, mounted on two uprights, which can be angled back and forth. There is some minor spotting under the mirror glass, primarily around the top edge but it doesn’t compromise its function. The dresser features two small drawers over two graduated large drawers. All four drawers are well-made with dovetail joints, slide easily and have clean interiors. The original brass handles are securely attached but two are missing their decorative back plates, although this isn’t hugely noticeable. The original brass castors are in place and roll freely. It is an antique piece of considerable age so there are light signs of wear and tear – dents, faded patches and superficial knocks – but nothing specific to flag. Do browse through our numerous photos for an accurate sense of its order. If you have any questions or would like to view the piece, please get in touch.
