Antique Arts & Crafts Oak Engraved Chest of Drawers

A particularly fine, antique chest of three drawers that dates from the turn of the 20th century, lovingly crafted in solid oak and with a gorgeous golden sheen to it. It’s the intricate engraved pattern on this dresser that make it so special. hand-carved to create a framing border at the front, it extends down the two front legs. We love too the original brass plate pull handles and the raised back edge. Full of considerable old-fashioned character and charm, it has a great deal to offer.

Description

This is original, vintage piece is ‘sold as seen’. It is in good – very good, used condition. It has been checked and cleaned inside and out, and a natural beeswax polish applied to the external wood but otherwise the original finish has been left alone. As you can see from our photos, the oak is lightly marked and knocked here and there across its exterior surfaces, including a blemish on the front as shown. We don’t feel this wear detracts from its appeal and it rather adds to its vintage character – please do browse our pictures. The three drawers have securely attached, original brass plate handles. The drawers are well-made in solid wood with dovetail joints and they all have clean, tidy interiors with just light signs of use. It’s very well made, solid and stable with much to offer. There is no maker’s mark but its origins are British.
