Vintage 1970s Leather Stouby Lounge Chair & Footstool Set

If you’re a fan of Danish sofas and chairs, you will have heard of Stouby. Highly regarded for their superior construction and clean-lined designs, they continue to make furniture today, with pieces still heavily influenced by the MCM aesthetic. This set is comprised of a lounge chair and matching footstool. Curvaceous and rather organic in form, striking silhouettes can be found at every angle. We love the slatted back and could see this set in a summer room or conservatory. The blond beech and orange tan upholstery lend themselves to a bright, open space. They date from the late 1970s / early 1980s and come in outstanding condition. And comfort? Yes, it’s a superbly comfortable, supportive sit with the angled footstool adding extra support for weary feet.

Full Condition Report
This vintage lounge set comprised of a chair and footstool is ‘sold as seen’. Both the chair and stool have been thoroughly serviced and cleaned. The beech bentwood frames have been revived with a natural beeswax polish but otherwise the finish is original. The leather upholstery is in very good order. The seat cushions have working zips, plump inners and just light signs of wear and tear. The back cushion ties onto the frame at the back with leather cord. One cord is a little longer than the other but we’ve left them as they are rather than even them up ourselves. All leather has been deep cleaned and a nourishing leather balm applied to restore suppleness and shine. The seat canvas is in very good order too. There are very minor signs of previous use on the frames but nothing to flag. Both pieces are very well-made as you would expect from Stouby with no wobbles or joint concerns.
