Full Condition Report
This is an original, vintage drawer chest that is ‘sold as seen’. We have checked and thoroughly cleaned the piece inside and out. The exterior surfaces – top, sides and drawer fronts – have been fully restored, a process that involved chemically stripping back the original surface, followed by gentle sanding, then Osmo poly hard wax oil for a durable, consistent finish and a final wax polish and buff. The three drawers are very well-made with dovetail joints. They slide easily, have secure, original handles and they have clean interiors. There remain some very faint blemishes on the top surface – we have shown this in our photos but viewed in the overall context of the piece, they are barely visible. The legs carry some superficial knocks and marks in line with its age. There are also a couple of very small nips here and there on the drawer front edges along with two discreetly filled and blended areas, as shown. Overall, we would categorise this wear as ‘light’. It is stable and solid, a very well-made piece with no areas of concern. The maker’s mark can be found at the back of the top drawer.
