Its robustly made with no areas of concern and in remarkably good order given its age. The fall door creates the writing desk. You just need to pull up a chair. Inside are cubby holes for organising and there is hidden storage below. We love the chunky legs and the subtle curves of the sides. A cracking slice of straightforward, practical British midcentury.

Description

This original, vintage bureau is ‘sold as seen’. Overall it is in good – very good, used condition. The piece has been cleaned inside and out, and a natural beeswax polish applied and buffed on the external surfaces, but otherwise the finish is original. The lower cupboard as double sliding doors, both in very good order with secure handles and they slide well in their runners. The interior has a fixed shelf inside and is clean and tidy. The upper section has a fall door which creates the desk when down. All hinges and closures are in very good order here. Inside there are fixed pigeon holes and again the interior is in very good, clean order, as shown. The external surfaces have some light knocks and scuffs but nothing to flag. Just minor wear that you might expect of a piece of this age. Do browse through our photos for an accurate sense of its condition.
