Italian Midcentury 1960s Yellow Formica & Walnut Kitchen Table

Everything about this table is a wonderful! The peachy yellow Formica table top, the radial bands of walnut around the edge, the dramatic curves of those tripod legs. It’s a midcentury statement for sure, a talking point piece that’s so much fun. It will bring energy and colour to any kitchen, family space or dining room. It hails from Italy and dates from the 1960s, with the tapered leg design nodding to space exploration, as was the fashion across much design in the mid-sixties. We love the chunky bevelled border of walnut and we love too that this is so different to the usual midcentury tables we see. With a wipe-clean top, this would suit a busy family as a informal, everyday dining / breakfast table.

Description

This original, vintage table is ‘sold as seen’. It is in good – very good, used condition. We have checked and cleaned the table, reviving its original finish with a natural beeswax polish. The yellow Formica table top is in very good order with just superficial scuffs and marks from use. The thick bevelled edge has a few knocks and dents here and there, as we’ve shown, as do the trio of legs but this is in line with what we would expect with a vintage piece of this age – do browse our photos for an accurate representation of tone and condition. It is solid and sturdy with no wobbles or signs of repair. There is no maker’s mark but research tells us it’s Italian in origin and it dates from the 1960s.
