Description
This is an original, vintage piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in good, used condition. We have cleaned, serviced and polished this piece, applying a natural wax polish to the external wood surfaces to revive its shine but otherwise the finish is as acquired. The desk is a mix of solid oak and oak veneer and it has been varnished at some point but overall the varnish is in good shape so we haven’t taken steps to remove it. There are five drawers in total, three on the left and two on the right including a double height drawer. There are two pull-out shelves, one containing the original plastic pen tray which although cleaned has discoloured with use, as shown. All drawers / shelves slide with ease, are well-made with dovetail joints and have lightly marked but clean interiors – the top drawers are more ink stained than the rest, as shown. Sadly there is no key for the locks and the locks have been removed at some point, hence there being some discreet round holes here and there. The exterior surfaces do carry minor knocks, scratches and signs of wear as you would expect with a piece of this significant age and function, primarily on the desktop. There is a small patch of veneer missing inside the leg area on the bottom right hand edge so not very visible but we’ve shown it in our photos. We have a weekly collection and onward delivery usually follows 1-5 days later. The delivery service we can offer does require a little flexibility as the drivers work to predetermined routes with other delivery obligations, but you would be kept updated.
