Neat Midcentury 1960s Teak Record Cabinet

With vinyl enjoying a comeback, the demand for vintage record cabinets has been on the rise too. This original, 1960s teak cabinet is just the ticket, perfectly proportioned to have your turntable on top, the amp housed within the cabinet below and your favourite discs organised and stowed in the sections underneath. It sits on castors too so can be wheeled into position. It’s British in origin and nicely well-made with classic, clean, mid-century lines. We love the retro handles and the cut-out stripes down the front. A handsome, vintage piece with considerable charm and lots of use in the modern home. Of course, this compact cabinet can be used for books, paperwork and other storage, if record collecting isn’t your thing.

Description

This is an original, vintage piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in overall good – very good, used condition. It has been checked and cleaned and a wax polish applied. The cabinet top, which was heavily marked, has been refinished so a partial restoration. The two doors swing with ease on their hinges and have working magnetic closures. The original handles are securely attached. The interior has fixed vertical sections, designed for vinyl storage and there is a full width shelf at the top intended for the amplifier. The internal wood is clean and tidy. There circular hole in the back panel intended wires. The exterior wood has some light signs of wear and tear – minor scuffs and superficial scratches – but overall this is minimal and not particularly noticeable. It’s well made, solid and stable with no signs of repair. It sits on castors so can be wheeled. Sadly there is no maker’s mark.
