What a beautiful, tactile object this is. An expertly crafted, solid teak bench with the most stunning grain and unusual statement legs featuring a striking circular cut-out. The neat dimensions would make this the perfect occasional seat in a hallway or at the foot of a bed. Alternatively, its proportions and height mean it can also serve well as a side table so a versatile vintage piece. We love the curved edges of the top that flow organically, echoing the patina of the teak. There is no maker’s mark but the build suggests this is a one-off, handmade piece, made by someone with skill and knowledge. We believe it dates from the 1960s and is British in origin.
