Vintage 1960s Military Oak Sideboard by Enham

Made by Enham Furniture, who were contracted to make pieces for the British forces, this rarity dates specifically from 1960. We know this because the date and military stamp are clearly visible on the back. This heritage sideboard / cabinet is an MOD piece, commissioned originally for military accommodation and barracks. It was most likely in an officer’s home. The design is utilitarian and unfussy but this doesn’t mean it’s without character. The build quality of military furniture is, as you might expect, to a very high standard. It was made to last, robust and sturdy, crafted for high use. With two drawers and a large lower cupboard it provides a huge amount of storage space. It has undergone a careful and thorough restoration so the golden oak really glows now. A superb slice of vintage history with a great story to tell.
