This is one of those pieces that looks both midcentury and contemporary – and that’s classic, timeless design. Designed by power couple, John and Sylvia Reid for Stag in the 1950s, this is from their C range. The Australian walnut makes a refreshing change from teak and the rich, dark grain is striking across the exterior surfaces. The overall design is refined, clean-lined and minimalist with long, lower recessed handles. We love the black trim framing the front, echoed in the drawer handle insets and tapered legs. It creates a subtle note of distinction. Plentiful storage across three generous drawers, a lovely slice of midcentury with great provenance that will mix and match with other furniture.
