This British-made, dark oak piece is a vintage catch. Dating from the 1950s, it comes with bags of old-fashioned charm and character and it has much to offer – there is a huge amount of practical storage within this tallboy cabinet, comprised of upper drawers and a lower cupboard. The design is post-war, unfussy and utilitarian, but this makes it an easy piece to slot into a mixed style home. It’s not CC41 stamped although it is a ‘Commodity Controlled’ design (so made to comply with the war-time and post-war austerity scheme). We believe it was most likely made just after 1951 when the CC41 regulations ended. Solidly crafted in oak, this piece has lasted a lifetime but has many more years of service to go.
